Terms of service

1. Agreement

PriceHunter BD is operated by Gatishil Ventures, at Ishwardi, Pabna, Rajshahi. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

If you are under 18, you may use the site, but you should only create an account with the agreement of a parent or guardian.

2. What this service is

We collect prices that Bangladeshi shops publish on their own public websites, group listings we believe describe the same product, and show them side by side. That is the whole of it.

We do not:

• sell any product listed here, or take payment for one;
• hold stock, ship anything, or handle returns, warranties or repairs;
• set any of the prices shown, or influence them;
• act as an agent for any shop, or for you.

When you press Visit on an offer you leave this site for the shop's own. Everything after that — the order, the payment, the delivery, the warranty and any dispute — is between you and that shop, under their terms.

3. Prices, stock and accuracy

Always confirm the price on the shop's own page before you buy or travel. Every figure on this site is a reading taken at a past moment, not a live quotation, and the shop is free to change it at any time without telling us.

We visit each shop's listings on a schedule of our own. Between one visit and the next, a price can change, an item can sell out, a listing can be withdrawn, or a shop can correct a mistake of its own. Every product page shows when we last checked, and we show that date precisely so you can judge how much weight the figure deserves.

Specifically, we do not warrant that:

• a price shown here is the price the shop will charge you;
• an item shown as available is actually in stock;
• listings we have grouped together are the same product — matching is automated and reviewed by hand, and it can still be wrong;
• the specifications shown are complete or correct, since they are taken from the shop's own listing and shops make mistakes too;
• every shop selling a product appears here, or that the cheapest offer we show is the cheapest available anywhere.

Prices are shown in Bangladeshi Taka as published by the shop, and normally exclude delivery, installation and any charge the shop adds at checkout. A “saving” or a discount percentage on this site is a comparison between figures we have recorded — it is not a claim about the market, and not advice to buy.

If you find something wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will look at it. Corrections are the fastest way this site gets better.

4. Our relationship with the shops

We list shops because they sell things people want to compare, not because of any arrangement with them. Appearing on this site is not an endorsement by us of a shop, and it does not imply that the shop endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with us. Ranking is by price, and no shop can pay to rank higher, to be listed, or to have a competitor's offer removed.

We do not currently earn commission on anything you buy. If that ever changes, we will say so plainly on the pages where it applies before it starts, and it will not change how offers are ordered.

5. Accounts and price alerts

An account exists here for one purpose: to give a price alert somewhere to be sent. You sign in with Google, so keeping your Google account secure is what keeps this one secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Alerts are a courtesy, not a guarantee. We send them on a best effort basis. An email may be late, may be filtered by your provider, or may not arrive at all — and because we check prices periodically, a price can rise and fall again between two checks without any alert being sent. Do not rely on an alert as your only means of catching a price.

We may cap how many alerts an account can hold, and expire alerts that have sat unused, so that the sending queue stays useful for everybody. You can turn any alert off at any time, from your alerts page or from the unsubscribe link in the email.

6. Content and intellectual property

Product names, descriptions, specifications and photographs belong to the shops and manufacturers that published them, and are shown here to identify the product being compared. We store copies of product images so that pages load reliably and so that a shop's server is not asked to serve our traffic. Every offer links back to the original listing.

The site itself — its design, its text, its category structure, the matching of listings to products and the price history we have built — is ours.

Notice and takedown. If you own content that appears here and you want it removed or corrected, write to [email protected] identifying the page and the material. We will respond promptly, and we will not make you argue: a rights holder who asks for their material to come down gets it taken down.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl or bulk-copy this site's data, or use it to build a competing database. Ordinary browsing is welcome; so is a search engine indexing us within the limits of our robots.txt;
• place a load on the site that interferes with other people using it, or attempt to bypass any rate limit;
• break into, probe or test the security of the site or its infrastructure without our written permission;
• use the site to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to send unsolicited email;
• create accounts by automated means, or use somebody else's email address to do it.

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please tell us at [email protected] before disclosing it publicly. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.

8. Availability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including a feature you use — without notice. Where a change is significant and we can tell you in advance, we will.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your reliance on information published here — including a price that had changed, an item that had sold out, a listing matched to the wrong product, an alert that did not arrive, or a wasted journey to a shop.

We are not liable for anything a shop does or fails to do. A dispute about an order, a payment, a delivery, a warranty or a refund is between you and that shop.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects the rights you have as a consumer under Bangladesh law.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and a material change will be flagged on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

You can stop using the site at any time, and ask us to delete your account as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 7.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Bangladesh, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
